An urgent plea for donations from our most active spay/neuter group in Italy:
Wednesday, December 1st, 2010This is from veterinarian Dorothea Friz who works tirelessly traveling all over Italy with her spay/neuter mobile van. She also travels to Europe and the Middle East teaching the benefits of spay/neuter and best practicing methods. Dorothea and her group are making a huge positive impact the welfare on cats and dogs in Italy. Please help her if you can.
If it’s easier to send in a donation to FORC, write “Lega Pro Animale” in the memo line and we will absolutely forward 100% of your gift to her organization. Mail donations to:

Dear Friends of Animals and Supporters of our Work in Southern Italy,
there are lots of horror stories about Italian kennels going round the world at the moment with pictures of dogs really suffering. Everybody only wants to “rescue” these poor animals. Nobody asks themselves, WHY there is this problem? THERE ARE TOO MANY DOGS AND CATS. And the answer is so simple: BIRTH CONTROL!!
Over the past 25 years we at LEGA PRO ANIMALE in southern Italy have been working on preventive measurements and finally we have success: at the moment there are hundreds of people calling to get dogs and cats spayed or neutered.
Unfortunately, our budget for 2010 has already been consumed for some emergency cases: we took in 5 elderly dogs belonging to a client of our veterinary clinic who had a stroke and another 3 dogs came back to us that we had re-homed earlier as puppies. The worst thing is that our water treatment plant is out of order and we needed to empty it, clean it and start from the beginning. An enormous amount of money is needed and I really do not know what to do anymore.
We need your help to get these animals spayed/neutered. If we do not do this, thousands of dogs will end up in the future in these horrible kennels.
PLEASE DONATE, EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY, TO PREVENT MORE SUFFERING OF DOGS IN KENNELS.
Thank you so much for your help!!
I enclose our Summer report 2010 with very best wishes.
