Friends of Roman Cats 9th annual Blessing Party was a huge success! We had a large crowd of supporters who came looking for wonderful food and auction items to bid on. They were not disappointed! People could chose from a spread of antipasti coordinated by the lovely Roseann Harris, Idle Hands Bakery brought amazing vegan mini-cupcakes and a long time supporter Lynn Coulston specially shipped her new line of Natures Cakes raw vegan cakes. Among the great variety of auction items we had, there was hot bidding on sports tickets, get-aways, beautiful cat themed art, unique ceramics, elegant and whimsical jewelry, and our popular cat, dog and human gift baskets.

For those of Italian heritage, the Italo-Americano Museo at Ft Mason in San Francisco had a special treat this year. The Museo is currently showing a wonderfully informative exhibit documenting the Bay Area’s Italian heritage, from the first immigrants, business and professional people, to poets and artists. This exhibit really shows how the Italian community has contributed greatly to the success and character of San Francisco. One of our Board members who is of Italian descent was thrilled to see a detailed model of the first apartment building in San Francisco that had been constructed by her Italian uncle.

We would like to give our most heartfelt thanks to everyone involved: our wonderful board members, those who volunteered putting the event together and during the party, and all who attended. Much gratitude to our generous patrons, Maria Alioto, Linda Beatie, Millie Cassidy, Susan Clark and Kathleen Lawton.

Lastly, immense appreciation to the businesses and individuals who donated to make our silent auction such a success! During these lean economic times, these people found it in their hearts to give a little extra so we can in turn put our efforts directly into TNR and saving cats.
